Christian Rap Group Takes on Hip-Hop Ministry Naysayers with Lyrical Aggressive Rhymes; FreeStyle Fam Basement Sessions 4 (VIDEOS)

Christian hip-hop duo FreeStyle Fam released their fourth video in their weekly "Total BS" series (BS stands for Basement Sessions), and in this raw unfiltered approach to rap music, they absolutely provide a lyrical onslaught of rhymes that surpasses what they did last week. In this week's episode, the rap duo responds to critics who say they are not Christian enough in their raps, and they are "fake."

Watch their response this week:

In last week's video they said, "We know you guys are as sick of the religious Pharisees as we are.  Thing is, they are pretty good at just being louder and more annoying than the people who speak the truth. That's why we made this episode."

Over the last week or so they have under attack from another Christian artist who feels the need to attack their ministry and talents because of their unique approach to music. Undeterred they are continuing on with their calling.

They continued, "This episode is for every person out there who has been told by some Pharisee that his or her gift is really a curse; that his or her love for hip-hop and the people they want to reach is somehow wrong or ungodly. You don't have to suffer the slings and arrows any more.  Just share this video, let those folks try to shoot their arrows at us."

FreeStyle Fam's rap is not for everyone. They are brash, a little arrogant, and even do not fit the typical Christian mold; however, what these guys do well is showcase their God given talent, and attract non-believers with pure unfiltered hip-hop that hits heavy. Once they draw the listener in, they hit them with the Lord's truth, and speak the gospel into their lives unashamed.

This is the Fam's ministry, which has helped them reach lost on street corners and on stage. It has allowed them to step in the ring with secular rappers, and hold their own while repping Christ, getting respect, and witnessing to the non-believer at the same time. It steps out of the cookie cutter "Christian rap" model that sounds pretty good, but caters to the believer. They do not want to preach to the choir, they want to preach to the lost.

Watch last week's episode:

"FreeStyle Fam just destroys the mic. Nothing but lyricism. Brash, graphic, unadulterated Hip-Hop. Giving the game shots of testosterone one verse at a time," the description from the video read.

FreeStyle Fam has performed at Rap Fest and countless Christian and rap events in the New York City area and just might be the next big thing coming to Christian hip-hop. They have a full length album coming soon, and will be releasing more details shortly
