Celebrities Against Abortion: Pro-Life Stars Speak Up with Inspirational Stories of Survival and Conviction

As America's views on abortion get more liberal the voices of those that are pro-life are often drowned out. Below is a list of popular actors and musicians in mainstream media that believe an unborn child has the right to live and they are not afraid to speak out.

Jack Nicholson
Three-time Academy Award winning actor Jack Nicholson has said his pro-life stance stems from being born out of wedlock himself. His mother was a showgirl and became pregnant with him as a teenager. He is alive today because although she was encouraged to have an abortion, she chose not to.

"I'm very contra my constituency in terms of abortion because I'm positively against it. I don't have the right to any other view," Nicholson told the National Review in 2003. "My only emotion is gratitude, literally, for my life."

Mel Gibson

Controversial actor and director, Mel Gibson told Barbara Walters in 1990 that he opposes birth control and abortion. "God is the only one who knows how many children we should have, and we should be ready to accept them," he said. "One can't decide for oneself who comes into this world and who doesn't. That decision doesn't belong to us."

Patricia Heaton

The Emmy-winning "Everybody Loves Raymond" actress has been known as an outspoken Republican and in more recent years a Christian. In 1998 she became the honorary co-chair of Feminists for Life, a pro-life organization that aims to steer women away from choosing abortion.

"I find it impossible to subscribe to a philosophy that believes that the destruction of human life is a legitimate solution to a problem that is mostly social, economic and psychological," Heaton told TheBlaze. "In reality, most women "choose' abortion because they believe they have no other choice."

Donald Trump
Donald Trump shocked attendees at a CPAC conference when he declared himself pro-life after years of supporting the pro-abortion position.

"One thing about me, I'm a very honorable guy. I'm pro-life, but I changed my view a number of years ago. One of the reasons I changed"¦ a friend of mine's wife was pregnant, in this case married. She was pregnant and he didn't really want the baby. And he was telling me the story," Trump said. "He was crying as he was telling me the story. He ends up having the baby and the baby is the apple of his eye. It's the greatest thing that's ever happened to him. And you know here's a baby that wasn't going to be let into life.

Justin Bieber
A young Justin Bieber was widely criticized for his open stance on abortion. "I really don't believe in abortion," Bieber told Rolling Stone in 2011. "It's like killing a baby." When asked about cases of rape, the pop star said, "Um. Well, I think that's really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I don't know how that would be a reason. I guess I haven't been in that position, so I wouldn't be able to judge that."

Kenny Chesney
Country singer Kenny Chesney's 2003 single, "There Goes My Life," about a teenager preparing to become a father, has been acclaimed as an anti-abortion, pro-fatherhood anthem.

Jordin Sparks
Winner of the sixth season of American Idol, Jordin Sparks is a long-time pro-life advocate. Sparks has reportedly participated in numerous pro-life conferences as a volunteer and singer. She is not quoted speaking publicly about it, but in an old MySpace picture Spark is seen holding up a sign that reads, " Stop Abortion Now."

Jim Caviezel
Having portrayed Jesus in Mel Gibson's "Passion of the Christ," actor Jim Caviezel has proclaimed himself to be a devout Catholic. The actor told Catholic Digest in 2009 that being pro-life is more important to him than his career.

He told the digest, "How are we so arrogant to think the 51.5 million babies who have died in this country"¦ Look, I am for helping women. I just don't see abortion as helping women. And I don't love my career that much to say, "I'm going to remain silent on this.'"

Kathy Ireland
Kathy Ireland rose to fame in the 1980s as a Sports Illustrated swimsuit model. In 2011, Ireland was the keynote speaker at the Council for Life's annual luncheon, where she professed her religious beliefs and detailed her journey from being an advocate for women's right to choose to become a pro-life supporter.

Nick Cannon
Nick Cannon, the rapper and husband of R&B/pop superstar Mariah Carey, released a song in 2005 entitled "Can I Live." It was accompanied by a powerful music video, which told the story of how he was almost aborted by his own mother. In the second-to-last scene Cannon's mother rises from the operating table as her unborn son's silent arguments penetrate through and she runs from the clinic into the sunshine.

Phil Robertson
Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson can be seen passionately preaching to an audience in Pennsylvania about his anti-abortion stance. The reality star used America's forefathers to bring home his point. "We debate whether it's some woman's right to tear you out of there a piece at a time! C'mon! You have a God-given right to live. And of all places, inside your mother," he said, "What in the world happened to us?"

These celebrites are standing up for a principles addressed in scripture in several different ways. The word says in Psalm 127:3 that, "Children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward." We also see the psalmist acknowledge that God does not consider a fetus a blob, but a valued life. In Psalm 139 it reads, "For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made."

Jeremiah 1:5 is God's acknowledgement to unborn, in which He said to the prophet, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations."
