Although 'Castle' creator Alexi Hawley is always busy with the production of the upcoming Season 8 of the series, he always keeps the fans updated with the progress of the new sequel of American crime drama television series on ABC.

IB Times reports that soon after attending the recently concluded ABC's Television Critics Association press tour party, Hawley took to his Twitter handle to share some thrilling moments with his followers.

While stating that the absence of Muppet disappointed him, Hawley also shared his excitement about meeting 'Quantico' actress Priyanka Chopra at the event. He wrote, "Sadly, there wasn't a Muppet to be seen. But I did meet @priyankachopra so I'm chalking tonight up as a big win."

At the same time, the 'Castle' execuutive producer did not forget to share some exciting information regarding the upcoming Season 8 of the show. He revealed that detective Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) will be promoted as a captain of New York City Police Department (NYPD) in the upcoming sequel.

TV Line quoted Hawley as stating, "At the end of the day, what we were trying to do was shake up relationships. The show has been doing a great job with what's it's been doing, but now we've been given an opportunity to really sort of add some energy into it."

Meanwhile, 'Castle' executive producer Terence Paul Winter shared some exciting details regarding the character change for Stana Katic.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Winter said, "What's exciting about that dynamic is that she's not going to be a traditional captain who is in the office. She's boots on the ground. She's still Beckett. She's going to be handling cases and she's going to be involved in the interrogation."

At the same time, Hawley revealed that the new developments in 'Castle' will help them to include some spark in the lives of Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Kate.

Hawley said, "The important thing to say about [Rick and Kate] is that the show has always been and will always be about their love affair. But we're looking to add some drama to it, some spark to it. We're going to have fun. It's going to be emotional at times, it will be romantic.... It will be everything."

'Castle' Season 8 will premiere on Monday, Sept. 21, at 10 p.m. on ABC.
