'Captain America: Civil War' Spoilers, News: Screenwriter Reveals 'Spider-Man Changed Black Panther’s Role' [TRAILER]

In line with Joe Russo and Anthony Russo's upcoming Marvel Comics film "Captain America: Civil War," it is revealed that Spider-Man has something to do with Black Panther's pivotal role in the movie.

"Captain America: Civil War" screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFreely shared their thoughts to elucidate how the iconic wall-crawler affected the Wakandan prince's characterization in the film.

In their interview with Cinema Blend during the movie's press day in Los Angeles, Markus said that T'Challa and T'Chaka had been originally the representatives of Wakanda and their role was to be the voice of other countries, saying that people were out of control; however, things were aggrieved by some actions that were done by Bucky.

According to Markus, he and McFreely originally set T'Challa as a prince in "Captain America: Civil War," pointing out that the superhero should not don his costume yet, since he was getting his own film and he was the prince of a country, which was "pretty good" for a movie.

Markus also mentioned that when they learned that they had not been going to have Spider-Man in the film, they had opted to have Black Panther put on his costume and become an "integral" part of the storyline. He added that when Spider-Man was heading to the film, they had chosen not to remove the Wakandan superhero from the film.

For the screenwriter, it had been a problem that had created a really nice situation.

According to Screenrant, while a costumed identity was a huge portion of who Black Panther is, it would have been a "great nod " to fans that knew who the diplomat really was. Also, seeing Black Panther in costume stirred fans' hype on the film.

Playeed by Chadwick Boseman, Black Panther is set to be part of Iron Man's team, along with Black Widow, Vision, War Machine, and Tom Holland's Spider-Man. They are against Captain America's team, which includes Hawkeye, Bucky the Winter Soldier, Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Ant-Man, Agent 13, and reportedly, Doctor Strange.

The Russos' "Captain America: Civil War" is slated to premiere in theaters in the United States on May 6. Watch the trailer here.
