‘Captain America 3’ Release Date, Cast News: Hawkeye Joins the Good Fight

'Captain America 3' will reportedly see lead actor Chris Evans along with another Marvel mainstay, Jeremy Renner, as Hawkeye in the upcoming addition to the film franchise.

"I think he's (Hawkeye) a utility guy that can bounce around into their people's universes a little bit, especially like 'Cap 3,'" Renner said while reportedly winking at the camera.

Renner's very straightforward comment further strengthened the rumors that he may indeed be playing in the upcoming 'Captain America 3' film.

Renner has previously starred in several blockbuster action movies including 'The Avengers' and 'Bourne Legacy' and is set to appear in 'Kill the Messenger'.

Fans insisted that Hawkeye reportedly did not get enough screen time compared to other Marvel characters in several movies. Hawkeye was allegedly put on the side lines in 'The Avengers' and had only a small cameo role in 'Thor'.

However, the 43-year old actor admitted in an interview with MTV that he is not anticipating on going solo for a Hawkeye spin-off anytime soon.

"I'm happy to be the ensemble. I'm not scratching or clawing to do a solo movie by any means," Renner states.

Meanwhile, Joe and Anthony Russo, directors of the upcoming 'Captain America 3' film were rumored to have talked about including more superheroes in the movie.

The second sequel of the franchise saw Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) in the story. Now, the Russo brothers are reported to have already put together the superhero cast for their screenplay.

With a jam-packed powerhouse cast, 'Captain America 3' will surely be one of the highly-anticipated movies this year.

Meanwhile, both the first two installments in the series, 'The First Avenger' and 'The Winter Soldier' were a blockbuster hits, earning Marvel a whopping $872 million in total sales.

'Captain America 3' is rumored to revolve around Steve Rogers searching for friend-turned-foe Bucky. The film is slated to premiere on May 6, 2016.
