Candice Glover, "American Idol" Favorite Misses Her Family

It's hard for Candice Glover to compete on Season 12 of American Idol. She auditioned hoping to further her singing career and possibly become the next Idol. But in doing so the 23-year old has to spend long periods away from the family she misses back on St. Helena Island.

"You don't want to (get sent) home, but you want to see your family at the same time," Glover said about the lengthy process of trying to make it to the "Idol" finale. "Sometimes, going back to the hotel room ... you just want to go to your own bed."

Advancing to the Top 10 on last night's episode, Candice Glover will have at least one more week on the road.

Glover floored the judges Tuesday night with a powerful rendition of John Legend's "Ordinary People". As for her victory song Wednesday night, Glover chose "I'm Goin' Down" by Mary J. Blige.

Just because Glover made it through to the Top 10 doesn't mean eliminations aren't tough. Luckily two of Glover's closest friends on the show, Burnell Taylor and Curtis Finch Jr. both advanced to the Top 10 Wednesday night.

It's hard to believe this is Glover's third season on American Idol. This year was the first time she made it to the Top 20. Obviously advancing to the final 10 was a huge milestone for the young singer.

As always, the Top 10, regardless of future eliminations, will join the American Idol LIVE! Summer tour.

This Wednesday, Glover will compete against the other remaining 9 contestants from 8-10 p.m. Results will air on Thursday's hour-long episode beginning at 8 p.m. One contestant will be voted off each show until a winner is crowned.

Based on what I've seen from Glover's track record this year, the girl better get used to a hotel room, because she's not leaving the show without a record contract.
