Former Full House actress Candace Cameron Bure decided to take down a photo she posted on her social media of herself with a minimal amount of makeup on because she says she received several hateful comments.

The 37-year-old posted a picture of herself on Instagram that linked to her Facebook page. It was a selfie of the actress wearing minimal make-up while looking at her phone and smiling with closed lips.

The successful author captioned her photo in high spirits. "A good blow out means a good day. ? and the fact that I'm alive," she wrote.

Many followers responded with compliments and praise, but others lashed out at her with a number of negative comments. The interactions prompted Bure to delete the photo from Facebook and she responded on Instagram.

"To all of you who posted nice things.... Thank you! I'm shocked at how mean and ugly people can be towards one another.  It's so sad.  And for all of you who think I look old and have no problem telling me that while you hide behind your screen... Guess what? I'm not getting any younger, nor will I try to look like I'm 20 as I age.  Shame on you," she posted.

After deleting the photo she also posted on Facebook"It's a shame to have to take posts down because the comments are so mean, ugly and hurtful. For those of you who have been positive and kind, thank you."

Although the actress encountered a good amount of cyber bullying for showcasing her natural beauty thousands responded in her defense.

"I'm so sorry that you had to take down your Beautiful Natural picture...I do not know you personally but I believe that you are the Beautiful GODLY Woman you show us on here and I pray that GOD continues to use you in every way that shows HIS Love.... GOD Bless you and your family!" one fan wrote.

Another said, "I admire you so much! I am 20 years old... You are an amazing example of the kind of woman I want to be! Thank you for being a great role model! That is something hard to find these days!"

The encouraging comments continue flooding Bure's pages after her recent post and although she is a celebrity and openly shares her life and Christian faith with the world Internet bullying can still be hurtful.

This comes on the heels of controversy Bure's book "Balancing It All" stirred up after she stated that she plays a 'Submissive' role in her marriage.
