Debuting artist Inspiration Worship, featuring singer-songwriter and cancer survivor Linda Doane, on Friday released her first full-length album, Powerful, on Radiate Music. The twelve-song album, which is available everywhere now, carries Linda's mission to share the gospel and God's power in her life, and the lead single from the new record, "Take Me," is currently going for adds at radio.
"'Take Me' was inspired by a Scripture I had written in marker and hung in my office: Matthew 10:7-8," Linda says. "'And as you go, preach, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.' Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.'"
She explains, "Every time I read about the miracles of Jesus and the disciples, it inspires me to keep pressing into the Lord and offering everything I have to Him because that's the kind of Christian walk I want-a powerful one."
Less than a year ago, as BREATHEcast previously reported, Linda was given only two to twelve months to live as she battled Stage IV Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Feeling what it was like to not take a normal breath for six long weeks in 2012, she realized the simple, profound gift of breathing. Now in full remission following her third bout with cancer, she is using her breath to praise God, revealing a confident, courageous creativity through Inspiration Worship's Powerful.
One of the stand-out songs on the album is a song Linda and her husband Tom wrote for their daughter in the midst of her battle with anorexia, titled "I Can't Fix You," which also became the first video from the album.
Linda says she does not think a lot of Christians "walk around feeling powerful," but that there is power available to believers in Jesus, a message she wants people to be able to take away from Inspiration Worship's debut record.
Powerful is available for downloading and streaming everywhere now, including iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon.com, and Spotify.
