Bob Hoskins Net Worth, Heirs: Actor Survived By Wife Linda and 4 Children

Bob Hoskins, one of the most recognizable actors of all time, has died, sparking fans to leave messages of condolence on social media sites and forums around the world. Hoskins leaves behind his estate worth approximately $12 million, which is believed to be going to his family, which consists of his second wife Linda Banwell and his four children Alex, Sarah, Rosa and Jack.

Hoskins was born in Bury St Edmunds, West Suffolk, England, United Kingdom on October 26, 1942, and started his acting career in 1969 at the Unity Theatre in London.

Hoskins was nominated for an Academy Award for his portrayal as British gangster Harold Shand in the 1980 movie "The Long Good Friday," where he starred alongside Helen Mirren. One of his most famous roles was as Edward "Eddie" Valiant in the classic animation film, "Who Framed Roger Rabbit," back in 1988.

Hoskins is also remembered for playing Nintendo mascot Mario Mario in the 1993 movie "Super Mario Bros" where he co-starred with John Leguizamo (Luigi Mario) and the late Dennis Hopper (King Koopa). The movie bombed in the box office because the movie was completely different from the videogame franchise it was supposed to be based on, and Hoskins was one of the strongest critics of how the movie turned out.

He said, "(Super Mario Bros. movie is) the worst thing I ever did," and, "the whole experience was a nightmare," said Hoskins to The Guardian in an interview in a 2007 interview.

Hoskins' last movie appearance was in "Snow White and the Huntsman" (which starred Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth) two years ago. The actor would retire from acting after he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

Hoskins was previously married to Jane Livesey (1967-1978), and fathered Alex and Sarah in his first marriage to Livesey. In addition, he is survived by his second wife Linda Banwell (1982-2014) and their two children, Rosa and Jack. When he passed away on April 29, 2014, he was 71 years old.
