'Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night' News: Game Set For 2018 Release Date And Not 2017?

New details on Inti Creates' "Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night" have surfaced and as per reports, it appears that the game is not set to hit gaming stores next year.

The game, which serves as the successor to "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night," has been delayed, Game Spot has learned. According to game creator Koji Igarashi, as cited by the publication, the development team targets first half of 2018 as the release date of the game. It is added that the game is set to be released in 2017.

In a statement, as cited by the publication, Igarashi said that things had been progressing with development for "Bloodstained." However, he added that between their current production setup and release deadline, he had realized that at this rate, the game might not end up meeting his quality standards.

According to Igarashi, he had opted to add a new developent team to the main production and improve their approach so that they could keep the game fully on track for how he envisioned it. He added that they were in the process of securing such new developers and that they would share more information soon.

In line with the delay of the game's release, Igarashi also expressed his apology; though he emphasized that he had made the decision to fully guarantee that the game was done right for the first time.

"I feel responsible for delivering the best product I possibly can. Again. I offer my sincerest apologies," Igarashi said.

"Bloodstained" obtained $5,545,991 in crowdfunding, as per PC Gamer. According to the publication, the game had asked for only $500,000. With this, greater time ensures that a quality game is more logical.

Overall, "Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night" is assumed to come out in 2018 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Microsoft Windows, Mac OS, Linux, Wii U, and Xbox One.
