Blanca

Pop/R&B singer Blanca released her self-titled debut album yesterday on all music retail and online outlets, and the solo project showcases the maturity and growth of the powerhouse vocalist.

According to a press release, Blanca was active on writing this record as she co-wrote all fourteen songs. These songs give a glimpse into this new chapter in her life and the fresh season of her career.

Blanca was produced by Grammy award-winners, Seth Mosley, Tedd T, Bernie Herms, Joseph Prielozny, and other top producers in Christian music. The album also features collaborations with Reach Records rappers, Lecrae and Tedashii.

Blanca's first single "Who I Am" reached No. 2 this week on the Christian Hot AC / CHR chart, which is it's highest charting position yet and is the fastest rising debut single from a new artist.

The song also holds a lot of meaning for Blanca as it depicts the changes in her life, from leaving Group 1 Crew to becoming a solo artist and recently becoming a wife and mother.

"The thought of dropping something that I loved like Group 1 Crew, was so scary," she explained in a release. "But, with a lot of prayer, over time, the birth of my son became not only the birth of my child, but the birth of a new chapter. Anyone who knows me knows that is pretty big. I've always been a fearful person. And the thought of stepping out was scary for me, but I had promised the Lord that if He said go, I would go."

Blanca has launched this message along with her album with the #RealTrueYou campaign that. She is challenging Christians to take a stand and fill the Internet with "your own stories" of finding your identity through Christ.

Blanca personally shared her story behind the song, "Who I Am," with this video, and shares her new motto... "Be Real. Be True. Be You."
