Black Widow Movie Release Date Rumors: Back Story Film Set for 2017 Premiere

While superhero sci-fi movie lovers are anxiously awaiting the upcoming Marvel Studios blockbusters, 'The Avengers 2: Age of Ultron' and 'Captain America 3' (still untitled), another enthralling production is rumored to be in the works. Producers are allegedly working on a female oriented superhero movie, one featuring the character 'Black Widow'

The character of 'Black Widow' starring Scarlett Johansson made her first big screen appearance in 'Iron Man 2'. The character left an imprint as a S.H.I.E.L.D agent in 'The Avengers' and with her return in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'.

After all these appearances, Black Widow still has a major part of her story and back story left to tell.

Talking about it in a press conference held during the promotion of the new movie 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier', President of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige said, "I think the idea would be great," adding, "We've got various outlines and ideas of where to take that. As Scarlett already said, there's a big element that explores her back story in an upcoming Marvel feature."

He went on to say, "The question really is, 'When will we take her out of the ensemble and have her do her own thing?' As you saw in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier', as you'll see in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron,' she's really the key to so much of the plot development."

As it stands, producers can take Black Widow's story in a number of directions, but fans can expect to see the feature film up on the big screen in 2017.
