'Black Panther' Cast News, Rumors: Former 'Ghostbusters' Actor Up for Role in Upcoming Marvel Film?

Recent news from Latino Review's El Mayimbe would suggest that a former 'Ghostbusters' actor would be up for a huge role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

More specifically in the 'Black Panther' film, as the father of the titular superhero. Mayimbe writes this in his Instagram post:

"RT! #Marvel #BlackPanther #RUMOR Actor Ernie Hudson is circling the role of King T'Chaka ruler of Wakanda & father of Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa aka The Black Panther."

This role would be huge for Ernie Hudson, as T'Chaka is not only Black Panther's father, but the protector of the fictional metal vibranium. He's also imbued with superhuman ability through a special herb, although it's not specified what take on the character the studio will have.

"In the comic continuity, the fictional land of Wakanda is rich in vibranium, the mineral used to make Captain America's shield. The various rulers of Wakanda, including T'Chaka, hid his country from the world to protect the resource, but was later murdered by an adventurer named Ulysses Klaw," writes IGN.

'Black Panther' is set for release in 2018, however Chadwick Boseman's character will make his appearance in next year's 'Captain America: Civil War.'
