Billy Graham Recognized Among America's Ten Most Admired Men For 59th Time

Billy Graham

For the 59th consecutive time, evangelist Billy Graham was again included among the "Ten Most Admired Men" in America. The evangelist from Montreat, North Carolina, joins the likes of Pope Francis, Barack Obama, Donald Trump, Ben Carson and others in the top of the list; definitely one of the most inspiring people ever.

Franklin Graham, Billy's son, took it to social media on Tuesday to reflect on how his father's ability to remain humble despite all of the awards that he has received in his time. Franklin believes that his father is being authentic with his real mission; which is to point people to Jesus' direction.

"My father would say, 'It's not about me-it's all about the Lord Jesus Christ,'" Franklin said according to Gospel Herald.

"I remember years ago when he stood up to speak to a massive crowd of itinerant evangelists from around the world we had brought together for a conference-and they wouldn't stop applauding. He motioned for them to stop, but they wouldn't. He just kept quietly saying, 'He must increase, but I must decrease' (John 3:30). A good reminder to us all about what the focus of our lives should be."

In 2013, Billy Graham prepared his last speech entitled, "My Hope America" according to the Christian Post. The evangelist released his final book in September entitled, "Where I Am: Heaven, Eternity, and Our Life Beyond." It was reported that he had been working on the book prior to the release of " My Hope America."

In the 90s Graham had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease according to The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Just recently, Franklin announced that his father doing okay at the moment despite not being able to preach anymore.

"His desire is still there to tell the world about God's love for them and how God sent His Son, Jesus Christ from Heaven to Earth to take the sins of all mankind to the cross, die, and arise on the third day. My father's desire is that all men and women everywhere would come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and trust Him and follow Him as their Lord."
