Last night Christian rap sensation Lecrae was nominated for two Billboard Music Awards, and took home the award for Top Christian Album for Anomaly.

Lecrae's Anomaly has gained the emcee mainstream success as he has made appearances all over network TV, including 'The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon'. Anomaly has also seen him make strides in the hip-hop community as his name has been thrown around among some of the most relevant rappers in music right now.

Lecrae faced competiton from fellow artists, Casting Crowns (Thrive), MercyMe (Welcome to the New), NEEDTOBREATHE (Rivers in the Wasteland), and Chris Tomlin (Love Ran Red).

Lecrae was also nominated for Top Christian Artist along with Casting Crowns, MercyMe, Newsboys, and the winners, Hillsong United.

The Reach Records rapper recently revealed he will be releasing a book, "Unashamed."

In the book he will detail his difficult past, including childhood abuse, struggles with drugs and alcoholism, bouts of depression, and a close call suicide attempt.

"I am writing 'Unashamed' for all those who don't know who they are, who feel confined by the labels given to them," Lecrae shared in a press release, "This is for the outsiders looking for peace within."

As made evident by his mainstream success the Texas native believes it is indeed possible to remain faithfully Christian while being fully immersed in the world.

"As an artist, my ambition is to make honest music, and I feel the same way about writing this book," Lecrae continued, "I want to be honest about where I've come from and what I've learned along the way. I want to influence culture, to help catalyze and inspire, and help other people find understanding. If they find some inspiration and some clarity for their own lives, as they follow my journey, then I will have succeeded."

As part of the book launch by B&H and Lecrae, a multi-city media and promotional tour is planned to accompany it.
