Fans of 'The Big Bang Theory' got a chance to catch the third episode in the recently premiered Season 8 on September, 29. Episode 3 is entitled "The First Pitch Insufficiency," and deals with the fears of many of the show's popular characters.

In terms of a recap, the episode's title evidently sprang from the development in the story involving Howard. He was tapped to throw the first pitch at a Los Angeles Angels game for Space Day.

While he attempts to practice on a Wii console, but performs miserably. However, Bernadette is there to console him, soothe his sore arm, and offer to train him properly for his baseball debut.

Meanwhile, Sheldon and Amy try to catch up on all the dates they've missed as per their relationship agreement. They end up on a double date with Penny and Leonard at a local pub.

Things turn out to be rather disappointing for both couples, as Sheldon claims he and Amy have a better relationship than Penny and Leonard. However, Leonard challenges his claim which shocks Penny, and pleases Amy.

Beyond that, Penny makes mention that she's not planning to get married for a while, as she has to prove to her mother that she isn't already pregnant. At the same time, Sheldon is constantly ranking, testing, and comparing their relationships at the pub which causes Penny to walk away upset.

This takes a turn for the worse as Leonard and Penny admit to each other that they are afraid of getting married. They feel that they do not have enough in common to make the commitment, but soon after things take a brighter tone.

Leonard says something romantic and inspiring to Penny, which comforts any viewer or fan beginning to fear an impending break up.

Stepping back into the Angels game first pitch, Howard brings out the Mars Rover to make the pitch for him, as he believes he's not an athlete, but a scientist.

The Mars Rover is incredibly slow, which leaves Wolowitz taking the brunt of the crowd's insults due to the delay.

'The Big Bang Theory' Season 8 Episode 4 entitled "The Hook-up Reverberation" airs October 6.
