Beyoncé Knowles' Pastor Defends Despite Recent Controversial Performances on Stage (VIDEOS)

Beyoncé's Pastor, Rudy Rasmus came to the defense of Jay-Z's world-famous wife in a recent interview, despite some Christian people questioning her racy performances and sexual subject matter in her new "Partition" song.

"She's an incredible human being. Has an incredible heart and has been extremely helpful in our mission and our ministry here," said Rasmus to KHOU (a news outlet located in Houston, Texas).

Rasmus has known Knowles since she first attended his church [St. Johns Downtown] as a little girl over a decade ago.

"She used to sing right here," said Rasmus, "I don't remember the song but I do remember she had long braids, tennis shoes and jeans on. A far cry from what she is today."

Rasmus was the person who officiated Knowles wedding to Jay-Z six years ago.

"She has a global platform and is doing some amazing work and I'm glad she's a friend of mine," said Rasmus.

At Sunday night's BET Awards show, Knowles was dancing to her "Partition" song in a performance (via satellite) that has some people thinking it was too hot for TV. In addition, she also danced seductively on a pole center stage with another dancer. Moreover, the 32-year-old Texan R&B singer/actress was also seen doing a handstand on a chair during her recent performance on June 29.

Previously, Knowles received some criticism for posting a photo on Instagram of her in "The Last Supper" painting, replacing Jesus Christ in the picture.

"Is nothing sacred anymore? This is clearly an act of disrespect towards Jesus Christ, whom Beyoncé covers up with her pose," said American Family Association (aka AFA) President Tim Wildmon in a statement earlier this year, "This had to be done intentionally. However, you will not see the media condemn her for offending Christians in the same way they did Phil Robertson for offending homosexuals because there is a double-standard. Christians are the only group in America you can bash with impunity."
