Faith based film 'Believe Me' was released on Friday September 26 and BREATHEcast had the opportunity to speak to one of its stars, Alex Russell.

Russell opened up to us about how the movie affected him as a non-Christian and how the movie is relatable to all crowds while maintaining a strong message.

The movie centralizes around a character named Sam (Russell), who starts a fake charity to essentially steal money from Christians. "Having a protagonist that's a jerk and likable at the same time is selling so that's good" he joked.

"I grew up Christian, but we weren't like going to church every Sunday type thing. It was kind of probably lazy Christianity," Russell revealed about his own faith, "I would call myself agnostic myself. I sort of don't know"

He stressed the importance of the movie not pushing any sort of agenda on people and allowing the message to remain universal while using the Christian element as a backdrop.

"I've never done a job like this before, and the film makers are very adamant about saying this film is not focused on hitting home an agenda. It's like something that holds up a mirror to the Christian culture. It's a universal message as well."

He continued, "I'm not a believer necessarily. I don't know what's out there, and being exposed to these guys and being exposed to the beauty of the culture as well and the people, and the beauty of faith is very inspiring."
