With the makings of Doctor Who being years ago, we are now reaching season 8. With a 50th anniversary celebration and a 3D special that will do nothing more but enhance the upcoming 8th season, which will be held Saturday, November 23, 2013 in the U.K. The announcement for the shows renewal was held this past May with an official report from BBC:

"We're delighted to confirm a new series of Doctor Who has been commissioned and the show's lead writer and executive producer, Steven Moffat, has revealed he's already plotting a brand new run of adventures for the Doctor." (BBC)

The 3D Christmas special will star Matt Smith, Jenna Coleman, David Tennant, John Hurt, Jemma Redgrave, Joanna Page, and Billie Piper. The Holiday series will be filmed during the summer of 2013 and the start of filming the new series will begin at the end of this year or the beginning of 2014.  There are many spoilers already being announced for the 8th season such as; Peter Capaldi starring as the shows new Doctor.

Capaldi starred in British Political hit movie, "The Thick of it" and a spin-off called "In the Loop".  Some viewers were concerned about the actor's foul choice of words when it came to the big screen, but Calpaldi made an announcement that his character would be kid friendly.  Unfortunately no official airdate has been set for the return of season 8, but I do have a special treat for advocate followers and fans of the show. Below is the 50th Anniversary trailer. Hope this isn't too much of a spoiler. Click HERE for Spoiler .
