'Battlefield 5' Release Date, News, Rumors: Games Set In World War 1; Gets October 26 Launch

The game settings for Electronic Arts' "Battlefield 5" is set to have a twist in time, along with talks that the game is set to benefit games in terms of the monetary aspect.

According to News Everyday, "Battlefield 5" is not going to be set in the contemporary era; instead, the shooting game will be set in the 1900s World War 1. As per the publication, the new setting serves as a break from the modern setting, which offers an exciting gaming experience for players.

As per Alphr, the information on the World War 1 setting was derived on a listing from the German retailer World of Games, which attached the game title to the first World War. On Feb. 26, Twitter user Liam Robertson wrote on his account the listings for "Battlefield 5," which had the description "Mehrspieler taktik Shooter im 1. Weltkrieg." According to the publication, it means "Multiplayer tactical shooter in WW1."

With the revelation that "Battlefield 5" features the events during the World War 1, it is assumed that fans and players may see and use weapons, armors, and aircrafts that are inspired by one of the world's historical timelines.

In his interview with Gaming Bolt, industry analyst Michael Pachter said that "Battlefield 5" would be a threat to games like "Call of Duty." He also mentioned that he thought that there was less overall competition, adding that the fifth game installment itself would be great.

While is known that the gaming realm has games like "Assassin's Creed," "Battlefront," "Halo," and "Fallout," Pachter also said that the game needed to go somewhere, adding that it should be good for everybody.

Electronic Arts' "Battlefield 5" is set to be released on Oct. 26 on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
