Battlefield 4 Update for Windows PC, Xbox One Released Today; 'Sound Loop Crash' and Stability Addressed

Battlefield 4 has received a new update for the Xbox One and Windows PC on Wednesday that aims to fix the "sound loop crash" problem, improve stability, and help Mantle performance.

The "sound loop crash" would cause the game to freeze after a repeating noise was on screen, reported Polygon. Another update will fix players in the who for some reason could not fire from the gunner position, and other strange occurrences.

Regarding Mantle, there were problems with the coloring of the sky and fog, and rendering graphical information.

For the Xbox One, the update will fix a number of minor bugs in the graphics department and problems in IFV/MBT.
According to Polygon, some across the board problems that were fixed are Team/Squad Deathmatch, missing sounds, camera misplacement, and exploits were addressed.

EA DICE is creating a new feature for Battlefield 4 called Platoons, which allows gamers to track their stats in groups.

"Very soon, we will release Platoons on Battlelog for Battlefield 4 (details to be announced very soon), but we want to give early access to a smaller group of players to test certain parts of the system before a full rollout and get some even earlier feedback," wrote TheBikingViking on BattleLog.

"So if you are interested in this, please let me know in this thread. If you can list your own, existing Platoon with all its members, you will have an even bigger chance of getting on the early access list."

This social feature was previously available in Battlefield 3, and as stated by the BattleLog producer, they are currently beta testing this new feature.

The site has been updated to reflect that the influx of interest has already forced DICE to end the early access as the number of joining people was overwhelming.

"Wow, thanks for all the amazing interest! I have now locked the thread as we have gotten more than enough applies. Please bear in mind that the early access will be for just a small amount of players, but it won't be for a long period, so everyone will be able to enjoy Platoons soon!" posted TheBikingViking.

He continued, "The chosen players have now been given access to Platoons. In order to see if you now have access to it, just log out of Battlelog and back in. If you have access, a Platoons menu item will appear in the Soldier dropdown, and a tile will also appear on home."
