The first film took four years to complete, but this time around, reports claim it will not take as long. With all the advanced programming and graphics machinery still at the ready and available from the first film, the production team will have an easier time putting the film together.

Also, many expect that because technology has developed since the release of the original 'Avatar', the sequel will be much more graphically remarkable. Sources say that the production team for 'Avatar 2' has been working closely with Weta Digital, to bring a whole bunch of new features and possibilities into the film.

Rumor has it that the storyline of the upcoming addition to the franchise will focus a lot on the different environments found in the world of Pandora.

Recent reports claim that 'Avatar 2' director James Cameron, who is well known for his command of the hit film 'Titanic', has yet to start compiling scenes for the film. Apparently, the sequel is in its early stages of production, with the crew designing the creatures and world setting, while Cameron works with writers on the script.

The distinguished director was reported to have acquired brilliant script writers like Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, Josh Friedman and Shane Salerno.

According to reports, the writers, including Cameron, stay in a room for five months, eight hours a day, to break down the stories not only for the upcoming sequel, but for the subsequent Avatar 3 and 4 films.

Fans of the first film, certainly have a lot to look forward to with the 2016 release of 'Avatar 2'. Additionally, reports have been claiming that Sam Worthington, the main character of 'Avatar', is set to reprise his role in the sequel.
