'Attack On Titan' Season 2 Release Date, News: Second Season Moved In 2017 Due To Insufficient Material, New Show?

In line with the release date of "Attack on Titan" season 2, it is revealed that the series is not set to happen this year, but in 2017, due to lack of material and a new show.

The delay of the "Attack on Titan" season 2 release date came from the manga series producer Kodansha. In his interview with Mission Tokyo, as cited by Tech Times, Kodansha confirmed that the second season of the hit anime series' is not set to be released this year and has been delayed to Jan. 2017.

According to the publication, the said postponement of the series release date is primarily due to insufficient material that will cover the full season of the anime. In the realm of manga and anime series, an anime series that is faithful to it manga iteration provides satisfaction to its fans; thus, it leads to more successful television ratings, among other programs.

Another reason behind the delay of "Attack on Titan" season 2 is the rise of a new anime series, according to Movie News Guide. Created by Wit Studio, "Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress" is said to be priority over the wall-breaking-monster anime series, which is also directed by "Attack on Titan" director Tetsuro Araki.

As per the publication, Araki mentioned that the new anime only consisted of 12 episodes, a presumed reason on giving priority to it over "Attack on Titan" season 2. It is assumed that Araki could work on it with speed, as both anime show share similar elements like using a weapon to kill monsters.

For the time being, fans have to wait until "Attack on Titan" season 2 is released in Jan. 2017.
