'Arrow' Season 5 Release Date: Latest Season 5 Trailer Revealed

The new trailer for "Arrow" season 5 offers some bits of footage from the new season, including a glimpse of the new baddie, Tobias Church.

The CW has released the extended promo for the upcoming season recently with the official synopsis for the premiere episode, titled "Legacy."

"After Laurel's death and the departures of both Diggle and Thea from Team Arrow, Oliver takes to the streets solo to protect Star City's citizens as the Green Arrow. With Felicity guiding him from the bunker, Oliver is forced to deal with a city that has become overrun with both criminals and a slew of new and painfully inexperienced vigilantes. Watching Oliver try to balance his jobs as both the mayor and also the protector of Star City, Felicity suggests he form a new team, but Oliver resists. However, when a deadly new criminal, Tobias Church enters the picture, Oliver realizes the best thing for the city might be a new team of superheroes. Meanwhile, the flashbacks take us to Russia where Oliver faces off against the Bratva," reads the synopsis.

The CW revealed plans to renew "Arrow" for another season back in March. The new series stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, John Barrowman as Malcolm Merlyn, and Paul Blackthrone as Detective Lance. Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg and Sarah Schechter are the show's executive producers.

"Arrow" season 5 premieres on October 5 on The CW. Watch the trailer below.
