New Jersey-based artist collective Anthony Ponder & Ministry's Desire (APMD) are back after a hiatus with the new single "Favor (feat. Natalie Wilson)." Aside from vocal contributions by Girl Director Wilson, the new track features vocal production by Gospel artist VaShawn Mitchell and is a cut from the APMD's upcoming album The Process.
Founded by Ponder in 2007, APMD is a collection of individual artists brought together and unified for the purpose of authentic ministry. The group has toured and performed with such award-winning artists as, Jazmine Sullivan, Chrisette Michele, VaShawn Mitchell, Mali Music, Ricky Dillard, and many more. APMD first stepped into Gospel with their debut album Hear The Sound in 2012.
Ponder says The Process is his "ministry voice to the world" and a personal statement on his own faith. "I found myself becoming impatient, frustrated and sometimes angry because I knew what was destined or promised on my life, and none of it seemed close in sight," he explains.
"This also began to create moments of envy because it seemed everyone around me saw manifestations except me," Ponder says. "This unhealthy mindset began to make me reflect on whether or not I truly trusted God. Did I believe He in fact had my best interest at heart? The answer was yes. My posture immediately had to change! God began to minister to my heart that the process was necessary and most beneficial to my development."
Ponder says his testimony is where many find themselves in life, going through the process, weathering the storms, but with faith and perseverance emerging victorious at the end. He says God will challenge us, and that the challenge must be embraced, that we leave it to God's timing, explaining that this is the heart behind The Process.
