Fans became shocked as word broke about a follow up to the 2013 horror film 'The Conjuring' was announced. The new movie is entitled 'Annabelle' and it's a spin-off that's already set to be directed by James Wan, and released on the big screen, October 3, 2014.

The movie revolves around the backstory of the creepy "Annabelle" doll that was seen in 'The Conjuring'. The doll was noted to be locked up in the home of two paranormal investigators, who aided the lead role in the aforementioned movie.

Beyond the release date, information about the upcoming spin-off film's plot and characters has been revealed.

The movie circles around the life of a young couple who is expecting their first child. John Form, the patriarch of the family finds a gift for his lovely wife Mia Form, a rare and vintage doll dressed in a pure white wedding dress.

While the doll initially brings joy and happiness to Mia, things quickly take a turn for the worse, as horrible things start to happen to the entire family. For example, a Satanic cult violently attacks the family, however they do not connect the vicious assault with the doll.

The family decides to move from their home, and start fresh, trying to put the traumatic attack behind them. However, what's only known to the audience at the time, is that the doll they are bringing with them is serious trouble.

Soon after the Forms move, they discover that what they brought with them, "Annabelle", actually has a demon possessing it.

Annabelle Wallis, the star of 'The Tudors' and 'Pan Am', has been cast as Mia Form. On the other hand, John Form, Mia's husband who bought the doll will be played by Ward Horton, who was also a part of 'The Wolf of Wall Street'.
