American Idol 2013: Kree Harrison Shines with "What The World Needs Now" / Janelle Arthur Bores with "I'll Never Fall In Love Again"

Country singer Kree Harrison performed "What the World Needs Now" by Burt Bacharach and Hal David as her first Top 6 American idol performance Wednesday night. During her pre-performance interview Kree Harrison revealed, "I've always loved that song and from the list of that catalog this was the one I could make my own more than any other."

Kree's performance and smooth vocals could not have come at a better time for tonight's American Idol episode. Following a disastrous, Idol-ending performance from Lazaro Arbos [two failed key change attempt...eek] Kree Harrison owned the classic. The judges thanked the Texas native for reminding American this show is a singing competition and not just a pity party.

Tonight's American Idol put the two country girls back to back. Janelle Arthur chose to sing "I'll Never Fall In Love Again" by Burt Bacharach. Though Janelle's vocal couldn't match Kree Harrison's, she did have some strong moments and looked cute as usual.

The judges didn't rave but didn't have any harsh criticisms. Keith Urban commented how he sees and hears a different version of Janelle Arthur every time she performs.

Arthur responded, "I don't want to be a one-trick pony."

Nicki complimented the Tennessee native on her cute outfit but said the song choice was boring. Though it's not any contestant's fault for having to chose an exciting Burt Bacharach song, it's still their responsibility to do what it takes if they want to win American Idol 2013.

Stay tuned for the second set of songs on the American Idol 2013 Top 6 episode tonight.
