'48 Hours' Premiere Spoilers, CBS Start Time: Season 27 Probes Into Murder of Wall Street Tycoon’s Death

The long-running documentary style news series, '48 Hours', will return for Season 27 this Saturday, Sept. 27, at 10 pm on CBS Television Network with Episode 1, "Paradise Lost."

In '48 Hours' Season 27, fans will see the protagonists of the show probing the death of a Wall Street tycoon, who, according to his surviving as well as suspected wife, is 'phenomenally handsome" and represents a "future with a capital F."

According to a synopsis of the premiere episode of the show, correspondent Susan Spencer along with the '48 Hours' team will take an in-depth look into the death of John Bender, who was allegedly killed in his 8,000 acre home located at the heart of a Costa Rican jungle on Jan. 8, 2010.

John Bender's wife and the only other person who lived with him in "paradise," Ann Bender, was charged with the crime, but she denied any ties to the murder. During her trial in Costa Rica, Ann was found not guilty, but the prosecution side has appealed to the verdict. Currently, Ann is in the country while the appeal is being heard.

Episode 1 of '48 Hours' Season 5 will also take the viewers right into the crime-scene - a four-story house that Spencer fittingly described as "spaceship on a mountaintop."

The show's own forensics team as well as legal experts will interview each individual connected to the crime, including the accused wife, her legal assistants, in addition to the prosecution.

Talking to the New York Daily, Spencer said, "You can usually get a sense of who's telling the truth," adding, "I didn't come away after talking to Ann Bender with any sense of that."

"I defy anyone who looks at all the facts in this story to say definitively, 'This is what happened,'" she concluded.
