Some of Nashville’s finest Christian recording artists Avalon, ZOEgirl, Natalie Grant, The Katina’s, Building 429, and American Idol's George Huff, will gather together in an evening of compassionate performances to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
The concert will be held Tuesday, September 13th at Two rivers Baptist Church (across from Opry Mills).
Funds raised through ticket sales will go directly to the Nashville chapter of the American Red Cross and the Tennessee Baptist Convention Relief Fund. The show’s organizers will also accept donations of essential survival items like soap and clothing for those refugees that will temporarily be calling Nashville their home.
"This concert has come together so quickly and we hope that this can be one of many outreaches of the Nashville Christian music community to the folks who have nothing. We’re hopeful that the donations coming from this event will somehow soften the blow for some of the families who so desperately need help.” explains Jody McBrayer of Avalon, who made calls to local radio stations to ask for their support to promote this important event. “…We were happy to help.” says Dick Marsh of 94 FM The Fish and Salem Music Network.
As a result, several morning shows are promoting the event, including 94 FM, WAY FM, WNAZ FM, WFCM AM/FM, WENO, and The Brian Mason Show.
