Spirit West Coast, the largest Christian music festival in the Southwest part of USA, begins today, drawing fans from California, Arizona, Nevada, and the rest of the West. Over 20,000 fans came together at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in San Diego County in the first out of two Spirit West Coast festivals, which took place from May 27-29. In those three days, 300 attendees dedicated themselves to Jesus Christ.
"I think we've got a great program and we trust the Lord will do great things in people's lives," said Robberson about SWC Monterey, taking place from July 28-30 at the Laguna Seca Recreation Area.
The newsboys, who headlined the second night of the Del Mar festival, will also be topping the bill at this year’s Spirit West Coast Monterey festival, which will take place July 28-30 at the Laguna Seca Recreation Area in Monterey, CA.
Aside from the newsboys, the Monterey festival will share many of the same exciting features as the Del Mar festival, including the brand new Tooth and Nail Stage, which will showcase such hard music acts as Norma Jean, Emery, Haste the Day, Falling Up, Spoken, Project 86 and others, and a series of worship seminars presented by worshiptogether.com.
Other general features of Spirit West Coast include action inflatable games, sports and recreation activities, a skateboard park, youth leader forums, the artist autograph center and ministry for all ages and phases of life – youth, singles, children and couples.
Teachers/speakers for Monterey 2005 include renowned author and speaker Josh McDowell and pastors Erwin McManus (from Los Angeles) and Mike Pilavachi from England’s Soul Survivor.
SWC Monterey will feature the best of Christian music, with headliners MercyMe, Newsboys, Third Day on the K-Love main stage, and rock bands Hawk Nelson, Pillar, and The Afters on Air One and Tooth & Nail stages. Click here for a complete listing of the 58 artists appearing at SWC Monterey 2005.
Spirit West Coast is organized by Christian Music Today!, and non-profit which also publishes a quarterly Christian music newspaper. The festival is produced by Celebration Concerts of San Jose, California.
