XXX Church Pastor Says Mars Hill's Former Pastor Mark Driscoll Will 'Comeback' Like 'Swaggart, Haggard, and Benny Hinn' [VIDEO]

Mark Driscoll

XXX Church pastor Craig Gross shared his thoughts about Mars Hill's former pastor Mark Driscoll, and wrote about people who have a tough time "moving out of the way" of themselves - himself included.

Gross blogged about a time in his life where he was like Driscoll, fighting against things that needed to be done because of the fear of losing control. "[I] eventually caved in because I feared for my life and the thought of not being around for my family. It was a difficult season but one that I needed. One that I am glad I did," he wrote.

He feels that once Driscoll takes a step back from the public and really just goes away for awhile, then healing will be able to happen. He references the returns of mega church pastors such as Swaggart, Haggard, and Benny Hinn as examples of people learning to forgive after a long time.

"The great thing is that everyone loves the comeback story," he said, "In the church world, we love the guy who had it all, lost it and then gets it all back. I have no doubt you will be back."

Gross listed seven points on how he feels Driscoll can improve his current situation, which draws references to Driscoll's appearance at the Gateway Conference. Watch the video below:

He said the best thing Driscoll did was resign before he was forced out or fired. In his second point he feels the pastor should own up to what is going on in his life rather than talking about the drama and hardship his family is going through right now.

"Did he ask for prayer for once for his church that he started and is going through hell right now having to shut down campus and figure it out? Did he ask for prayer for the countless number of people who have already lost their jobs or have been actually hurt?" wrote in response to Driscoll asking for prayer.

Gross then criticized Driscoll for sitting near the front row of the conference instead of being there as a regular church goer. "He can't stay away from the limelight and if he is not on the stage has to sit front row steps away from the stage. I don't get it."

The "Porn Star" pastor continued with saying Driscoll needs to be with his family during this trying time if things are so bad at home. He further continued and said Driscoll needs to make better friends, relationships, and mentors with people who will not "exploit" him, and even insisted he should change his Twitter handle.

Lastly, he concluded with this biting remark, "Apologize and stay silent. You resigned and left your post and would be great to just let your church move forward without you and stop trying to make people feel sorry for you."

Again, Gross said he is approaching this with familiarity as he claimed he has gone through a similar trial in his life where he let his personality consume him and take over his true calling. He details that in the video below:

"I don't hate Mark. I know you might read this post and think I am just mean and cruel. I am not that mean but I do think in situations like Mark's we focus too much on Mark and too little on the rest of the people," he said to cap off blog post. "I think the Bible is clear that you reap what you sow and when that happens all I can say is what did Mark expect would happen to him?"
