Xiaomi Mi 5, Mi 5 Plus Release Date and Specs News: Chinese Smartphone Manufacturer Ready to Launch New Devices?

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi, fondly called as 'China's Apple,' appears to be determined to be the leading smartphone brand globally and the recent launch of its latest device Mi 4i in India is an indication that it wants to leverage the vast market there. Now, there is news as well as leaks regarding the company's upcoming flagship smartphone dubbed as Mi 5, which is rumored to be announced in July via Xiaomi's domestic market.

Tech Radar reports that a recent leak suggests that the Mi 5 variants will be named as Mi 5 and Mi 5 Plus, similar to what Apple has done with its latest iPhone 6 and 6 Plus devices. While it is expected that the Mi 5 will come with a 5.2-inch display (in all possibility have a 2K resolution), the Plus variant may have a relatively larger display. The Mi 5 Plus may come with a mammoth 6-inch display, provided the details in the leak turn out to be true.

In addition, the other features of Mi 5 may include 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, plus a 16-megapixel primary rear camera and in all probability an 8MP front snapper for selfies.

One of the interesting technical specs of Mi 5 is the possibility of Xiaomi using Snapdragon 810 CPU despite the fact that there have been complaints related to its frequent and incessant heating issues, which have virtually made the processor an unreliable option for most handset manufacturers.

While Xiaomi has yet to make any official announcement regarding its upcoming flagship devices, their specs or release dates, it is expected that tech enthusiasts will soon be getting more information regarding the purported Mi 5 and Mi 5 Plus.
