Xbox One Hack Update: Serious Security Flaw Discovered By IRC EFnet?

A group of gamers on an open forum, IRC EFnet, were able to hack the system of Microsoft's console Xbox One.

One user, Ireiz, hinted that it could be possible that the Xbox One has been hacked. "[I] think of the most radical situation that could have possibly happened. The thing that would most hurt the security," he said.

The chat lobby has an increased popularity in #xboxonehack topic since the user posted the statement. Then, a new log was created to further inform gamers on how to hack the console.

"I just got GREAT news for xboxone hacking", says Iriez.

Iriez further discussed the way they could develop the Xbox hack, "Well, theoretically if the keys were leaked...IF....public key is stored on cpu die, [a] new hardware would need to be rolled out and even then how are they going to prevent files signed with the old key from working? If they change their public/private pair?" he explained.

Fahad Arif from WCCFTech said that if ever Iriez could succeed in hacking the console, "Microsoft would only be able to avoid the Xbox One homebrew by completely altering the hardware of the console."

"Welcome to the beggining [sic] of a new age! Xbox one full homebrew will likely be a reality in a short time" added Iriez.

"So this will be the easiest hack ever then to apply. Literally just a dashboard update thats been hacked up, lol. Like the ps3 - high five," writes another user called Black Wolf.

Though Iriez already announced the discovery of the hack, it is reported that his team is still on the developmental stages.

"We will see examples within the following months....right now is the discovery phase, development must be done," he said.
