'Wolverine 3' Cast, Plot Rumors: Hugh Jackman's Movie To Be R-Rated, Fans See Old Logan?

With the recent success of Tim Miller's Marvel Comics film "Deadpool" on the big screen, it has been revealed that James Mangold's untitled "Wolverine" sequel is set to follow the footsteps of the former film, in terms of how it is rated.

Mangold's "Wolverine" sequel is believed to follow Miller's "Deadpool" as an R-rated film. According to Comic Book, a pamphlet at a New York City Toy Fair, which was given to the guests, revealed that "Wolverine's" anticipated rating is R.

Seeing the adamantium-clawed mutant in an R-rated film is not far from happening, according to Collider. As per the publication, Mangold and Hugh Jackman had considered showing the audience an R-rated "Wolverine," when they were still working on the film. It was revealed that they had shot both PG-13 and R-rating versions of the film, with the latter cut included in the "Unleashed Extended Edition" on Blu-ray.

Set to be the sequel to "The Wolverine," Mangold's "Wolverine" stars "X-Men" actor Patrick Stewart, who played older Professor X in the previous "X-Men" film, and Jackman as Logan/Wolverine. In previous reports, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" actor Liev Schreiber, Mangold's film would center on an old Logan, adding his interest on reprising his role as Sabretooth in the film.

In his interview with Collider to promote "Eddie the Eagle," Jackman also teased what fans could expect from his "Wolverine" film, which is set to be his last stand as the adamantium-clawed mutant. He said that they were getting super close-as one could see by the rate of his facial hair that might give fans a good clue. With his reveal, it is assumed that fans would see an old Logan, which mirrors previous reports.

Mangold's untitled "Wolverine" sequel is set to premiere in theaters in the United States on Mar. 3, 2017 while its home entertainment release will be in the summer of 2017.
