Who is Nicki Minaj's Pastor? Rapper Shouts Out Minister During Vulgar VMA Acceptance Speech [VIDEO]

Rapper Nicki Minaj made headlines this weekend for calling out Miley Cyrus when accepting the award for 'Best Hip Hop Video' but it was her random shout out to her pastor that made us take a deeper look into who her pastor actually is.

Minaj has certainly not prompted the Christian message in her music, but has talked openly about her mother's faith. In Elle Magazine earlier this year she spoke of her prayer life while on tour.

"I was praying every day, 'You know what, Lord? I want to be a mom one day, and I want to start becoming the woman who I want to parent my child,'" Minaj told Elle.

During her now infamous VMA speech the 30-year-old rapper said, "You know who I want to thank tonight? My pastor Lydia," Minaj said. "I love you so much. And now, back to this b***** that had a lot to say about me in the press. Miley what's good?"

After looking further into Minaj's Pastor we discovered she is talking about pastor Lydia Sloley. Known as "apostle Lydia" to her congregation. She serves as Senior Pastor and founder of "Life in Its Poetic Form Christian Ministries," located in the Downtown Brooklyn, NY.

Minaj took to her Instagram this year to promote a book by her beloved pastor. "The Supernatural Woman" is the book written by her pastor friend and she wrote, "A must read for all women. On amazon.com - written by my great friend Pastor Lydia Sloley - be inspired."

She is an independently certified cable television producer. She writes, produces and directs of her own cable broadcast, "Life In Its Poetic Form." The programs are meant to be an inspirational talk show designed to inspire, encourage and motivate its viewers.

She has written and published five books of poetry with pieces providing inspirational insights, relationships, challenging experiences, knowing yourself through christ, and understanding our emotions.
