‘Watch Dogs 2’ Release Date, News: Game Sequel Launch Details To Be Unveiled Before March 2017

Ubisoft has promised that "Watch Dogs 2" will have a new tone, but there are no details yet on what that could mean on the gameplay. Meanwhile, the release date for the sequel will probably be announced before March 2017.

However, CEO Yves Guillemot is so confident about the changes they made to the gameplay that he's optimistic that "Watch Dogs 2" has the potential "to be one of Ubisoft's best-selling games of all time," Game Spot reported.

The exec also claimed that it could also be the top bestseller for 2017, even outmatching stellar titles like "South Park: The Fractured But Whole," "Ghost Recon: The Wildlands" and "For Honor."

Guillemot also fueled all the rumors about improved gameplay as he said that fans of the franchise will be pleasantly surprised on what's in store for them on "Watch Dogs 2."

"The game will once again surprise players with a new tone and with innovative hacking gameplay possibilities. We can't wait to show your more," he said.

As to the release date, David Scammell aka VG_Dave tweeted, "Watch Dogs 2, South Park, Ghost Recon Wildlands, For Honor & new IP still on track for release before April 2017."

He added, "Ubisoft's financials begin soon. You should probably expect to hear more about a Watch Dogs 2 release window."

Nevertheless, the release date as speculated by David Scammell wasn't pulled out of thin air. In fact, last month, leaked images of the actor playing the lead character in "Watch Dogs 2" for their way into social media, which means Ubisoft is at least deep in development for its latest title.
