'War For The Planet Of The Apes' 2017 Release Date, Plot: Movie Is Not Yet End Of Franchise’s Future [TRAILER]

Matt Reeves' "War for the Planet of the Apes" is coming soon and in line with the film, the director revealed that it was not yet the end of things.

In his interview with Cinema Blend, Reeves said that he and the crew did not see the story as ending. He mentioned that in thr trilogy it was a Caesar arc that was specifically in people's minds, such as how he became a mythical and giant character. According to the director, he was the sort of the "seminal figure" in ape history.

"And the events of this war, and what he does in this war cement his position in that place," Reeves added.

Meanwhile, producer Dylan Clark hinted that the could be more in the "Planet of the Apes" film universe. In the same interview, he said that they wanted to go through this time to explore a lot of different things, adding that they had never set out to make a trilogy. Clark added that the had been asked questions like if the next one was going to be "The Planet of the Apes."

"Our hope is that we make a whole movie that works here, and that we can continue with these characters that we love," Clark said.

Meanwhile, the official teaser trailer for "War for the Planet of the Apes" shows the dialogue spoken by Caesar to Malcolm at the conclusion of "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes." According to Screen Rant, it suits the "over-arching narrative" for the forthcoming film, as the Primate had no choice by to evolve into an iconic figure in the ape history.

Reeves' "War for the Planet of the Apes" is slated to premiere in United States theaters on July 14, 2017.
