Victoria Osteen Among Notable Preachers to Appear in Mark Burnett's 'Women of the Bible' Project

Lakewood Church co-pastor Victoria Osteen will appear in an upcoming project titled 'Women of the Bible,' created by 'The Bible' executive producers Roma Downey and Mark Burnett.

Besides Osteen, Burnett and Downey's 'Women of the Bible' project will feature several interviews from several prominent preachers such as Joyce Meyer, Kay Warren, Christine Caine, and Priscilla Shirer discussing notable females depicted in the Scriptures.

"Women have obviously played such an important role in biblical history, and Mark and I are excited to shine a light on these individual stories through the eyes of some of today's most incredible women of faith," said Downey to the Orlando Sentinel.

Lifetime GM and Executive Vice President Rob Sharenow expressed his thoughts about the famous duo's latest Biblical project that will appear on the cable network.

"There's no one better than Mark Burnett and Roma Downey to create this special, which is the perfect complement to Lifetime's miniseries event, 'The Red Tent,'" said Sharenow according to a Charisma News.

In addition, the married couple will also release a mini-series on the popular cable network titled 'The Red Tent,' which is based on the story of Dinah, the sister of Old Testament hero Joseph.

The Bible revealed that the daughter of Jacob and Leah (Dinah) was unfortunately raped by Shechem, the son of a Canaanite (Hivite) prince named Hamor.

As a result, her brothers Simeon and Levi orchestrated a plot which resulted in them killing Shechem and Hazor as an act of vengeance for the great sin committed against their sister.

"Then Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, 'You have brought trouble on me by making me odious among the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites; and my men being few in number, they will gather together against me and attack me and I will be destroyed, I and my household.' But they said, 'Should he treat our sister as a harlot?,'" according to Genesis 34:30-31.

'The Red Tent' four hour miniseries is also based on Anita Diamant's best-selling book in 1997 of the same name.

Burnett and Downey's two-hour special titled 'Women of the Bible' will broadcast on the Lifetime network on December 7 at 7 pm EST and is followed by the first part of 'The Red Tent' at 9 pm EST.
