Upcoming Samsung Phones 2014: Galaxy Note Edge With Two-Sided Display Release Date Soon

Mobile enthusiasts who can recall the three-sided display, showcased by Samsung at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) a few years back, will notice that the Korean tech titan has utilized this technology for one of its upcoming smartphones - the expensive Galaxy Note Edge phablet, which is expected to be released before the end of this year.

The Galaxy Note Edge phablet will not get the entire three-sides to the display, but only who of them. Nevertheless, this exclusive feature is sure to turn the heads of consumers.

A latest report by GSMArena says that the device was displayed after Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 4. In fact, the Galaxy Note Edge comes with specs similar to those of the flagship phablet, but has an extra display owing to the curved display on the right edge of the smartphone.

In other words, this means that the phone's QHD screen will pack a 2560 x 1600 resolution, in place of 2560 x 1440.

According to the report, the additional portion of the screen will be the feature separating it from the other devices from Samsung's stable, especially the Galaxy Note 4 whose overall appearance is very similar to the Galaxy Note Edge.

Similar to the Galaxy Round, this curved portion of Galaxy Note Edge will support a number of interactions and gestures. Even after the user locks the phone, the curved side of the phone can display a number of Quick Glance details like time, location and weather.

The report further adds that the curved portion of the screen can also turn out to be some kind of a toolbar for displaying recently-used applications, features, and settings. In addition, the curved screen might be useful when it comes to multi-tasking wherein the user is able to see the currently running applications and switch through them concurrently without having to fill the actual display or the flat screen.

There is little doubt that the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge offers something unique that is especially handy when considering multi-tasking.
