The Ultimate Warrior, one of the most popular wrestlers in WWE history, has died, sparking thousands to leave messages of condolence on social media sites and forums. Warrior leaves behind his estate worth approximately $1.5 million. He is survived by his wife Dana and daughters Mattigan and Indiana.

Warrior was born James Brian Hellwig in Crawfordsville, Indiana on June 16, 1959. He legally changed his name to Warrior back in 1993.He is well-known for becoming the first man to defeat the "Immortal" Hulk Hogan on the grandest stage in professional wrestling: Wrestlemania. As a result, He became the only man in WWE history to unify the WWE Intercontinental and WWE (then WWF) Heavyweight Championship at "The Ultimate Challenge at Wrestlemania VI at the SkyDome in Toronto, Ontario on April 1, 1990.

After he left WWE for good back after multiple stints (1987-91, 1992-1996), he reportedly had bad blood with Vince McMahon. He had brief stint with WWE's main competition (WCW) back in 1998.  Last year, Warrior appeared in WWE 2K14 game commercial promoting that he will be in the new game for the first time in over a decade. Warrior entered the WWE Hall of Fame as the main headline on April 5, 2014. On April 7, Warrior made his final appearance on Monday Night Raw when he thanked his fans for their support for at least 2 decades.  It was the first time Warrior entered a WWE ring since 1996.

"No WWE talent becomes a legend on their own," said Warrior to fans in attendance at Monday Night Raw. "Every man's heart one day beats its final beat. His lungs breathe their final breath. And if what that man did in his life makes the blood pulse through the body of others and makes them believe deeper in something that's larger than life, then his essence, his spirit, will be immortalized by the storytellers-by the loyalty, by the memory of those who honor him, and make the running the man did live forever.

Warrior was married two times and had two children. In addition to his wife Dana, Warrior is survived by daughters Mattigan and Indiana. The Ultimate Warrior passed away on April 8, 2014 at the age of 54.

"We are all so sad that the Ultimate Warrior has passed away," wrote WWE Chairman Vince McMahon via Twitter. "Our heart is with his wife Dana and his two daughters."

Hulk Hogan, his former Wrestlemania opponent issued his condolences.

"RIP WARRIOR. only love. HH," wrote Hulk on Twitter this morning.
