True Blood Season 7 Release Date: Major Character Death Expected (VIDEO)

The seventh and final season of True Blood is expected to open with a killing spree and death of a major character. HBO's vampire series returns to its original theme of human-vampire relationships, the potential between Bill and Sookie now shows some promise.

TV Guide Mega Buzz reported that the Season 7 premiere episode focuses on the battle between Bon Temps and H-Vamps. Shock will befall fans as a gruesome fate awaits a major character, whose identity remains currently undisclosed.

"In fact, one character's fate is so jaw-dropping that you'll spend the rest of the episode wondering if what you just watched was a dream. It's not, which clearly means all bets are off in this final season," a spoiler alert from TV Guide revealed.

True Blood's final season is packed with unexpected twists and turns which leaves Sam Trammell to deem it an "insane season." Season 7 starts off where the previous episode left off, featuring an attack to the Bon Temps camp.

Forty-five year old Trammell, who plays Major, told Entertainment Weekly, "I think that in the past, people have just died and there's a ton of brutal deaths and they haven't really been respected. But I think with Terry's death last year we started to really respect what death is, and Brian Buckner who is running the show this year wanted to consolidate the stories and bring it back to the main cast."

True Blood Season 7 returns on HBO on June 22, 9 PM with its final 10 episodes. The premiere Jesus Gonna Be Here is written by Angela Robinson and directed by Stephen Moyer.
