Trip Lee was recently on BET where he spoke about the difficulties of balancing being a hip-hop artist and a pastor while being labeled a "Christian."

He said as a pastor it is his responsibility to be a part of people's lives, but as an artist he always has to travel.

"I can do my music and be me, who I am and love God. I can be a pastor and not be a traditional pastor you may not think. I can be a rapper and not be like a traditional rapper. And that way I don't really fit people's molds," he said on BET, "I love God, I love hip-hop, and I think I can love God and hip-hop and do it in a good way."

He further explained labels and discussed not falling into them because he is more than what people may think of him.

"I'm definitely not a gangsta. Never pretended to be. There is nothing gangsta like about me. At the same time, when people here Christian rap, that's not what I want to call myself because people think of something very different from what I do," he explained in the interview.
