Tim Tebow News: Celebrates 27th Birthday At SEC Network Launch in Florida (VIDEO)

Ex-NFL QB Tim Tebow celebrated his 27th birthday and also helped sports network juggernaut ESPN launch its new SEC Network yesterday.

"It means the world to me," said Tebow at the launch of the college football network in Gainesville at the University of Florida football facility on August 14, "Honestly it's in my blood."

Tebow had an impressive college football career in Gainesville where "Tebowmania" was born and highlighted by winning the Heisman trophy in 2007 and two BCS National Championships with the Florida Gators in 2007 and in 2009.

Tebow played all four seasons of college football with the Gators in the Southeastern Conference (aka SEC) from 2006 until 2009. After that he was selected by the Denver Broncos in the first round (25th overall) the NFL Draft (2010) after the Baltimore Ravens traded his draft rights to the Broncos' for second, third and fourth round picks.

A few years later, the former Denver Broncos and New York Jets athlete would be released by the New England Patriots during the 2013 NFL preseason and did not find a new squad during the regular season.

At the SEC network debut, Tebow was given a birthday cake by his old friend Albert, the Florida Gators mascot in order to celebrate the devout Christian's birthday.

Afterwards, Tebow then interviewed the current Florida Gators QB Jeff Driskel on the newly christened sports network.

"If we keep doing what we're doing I think we're going to have a good shot [to win the SEC East division this year]," said Driskel to Tebow.

Despite that, Tebow's former college team finished a dreadful 4-8 season last year, Driskel is looking to have the same success Tebow had with the Gators during the 'Tebowmania' craze in the late 2000's.

"Last season is gone," said Driskel to Tebow.

Tebow signed a multi-year contract with ESPN to work for the SEC Network earlier this year.
