The Young and the Restless Cast Rumors, Spoilers: Phyllis Newman Role Recast; Michael Muhney Not Coming Back?

Michelle Stafford is out of The Young and the Restless, and her role as Phyllis Newman is open for recasting, according to dramatic new reports from the program.

Soap Opera Digest announced on Wednesday that the show is looking for a new cast to assume Stafford's part, with the actress needing to portray the character between 35 and 40 years old, with a "beautiful, smart, and conniving" personality.

Newman has been in coma on the program since last summer, but production says the character will be back to give the show another round of dramatic and surprising twists.

Rumor has it that writers are working to create an intriguing comeback for Newman. With Jack's budding romance with Kelly and Sharon's secret, fans are confident that the recasting of Stafford's role is right on time.

Meanwhile, Jack's daughter is not pleased with her father's ongoing relationship with Kelly, not expecting that he would move on so fast from Phyllis' medical condition.

Meanwhile, former BFFs Chelsea and Chloe have turned against each other while dealing with their respective loss of their loved ones.

SOD will also recast Adam Newman's character after Michael Muhney's was fired from the show stemming from a scandal. In previous episodes, Adam was involved in a car accident where he subsequently faked his own death. Now that Chelsea and Victor begin Adam's funeral preparation, rumors are claiming that Muhney is likely to appear on the show.

Fans are hoping that his participation to the soap opera will be revived, but predictions say that Muhney will most probably end up similar to Stafford's General Hospital scene. However, Muhney's Twitter engagement to fans since January makes the audience think otherwise.
