The character of Kelly Andrews on CBS soap opera "The Young and The Restless" is about to change. And not because of the plot or her character, but rather because of changes in the cast. The actress who currently plays Kelly, Cynthia Watros is moving on to work with MTV. Kelly will now be played by actress Cady McClain.

McClain recently spoke to TV Guide about joining the show. It seems the actress is eager to be accepted by the audience.

"I'm bringing my A game and hoping the fans will accept me," McClain said.

The actress described how difficult it is to take over a role from another actor. She said she did not want to talk to Cynthia Watros about the role because she wanted to be able to have her own input on how to portray Kelly.

"I did not talk with Cynthia about the role. She offered, but I think that would have really gotten into my head and left me thinking, "Am I trying to do it the way she did it?" Because that's a no-win situation," McClain told TV Guide.

But there is definitely a good side to jumping into the role of Kelly. The actress discussed how much she enjoys working with co-star and her character's love interest, Peter Bergman, who plays the character Jack.

"Peter is an amazing actor and this is a soap opera, which is about love and romance. He needed somebody to play with and I'm thrilled to be the one. In a way, it's very special," she said.
