For Fans who cannot wait for the upcoming Season 6 of the hit series, 'The Vampire Diaries,' the cast recently revealed they have finished shooting their scenes for the Season 5 finale episode. The cast of the hit series has been known to reach out to their fans through various social media outlets such as Instagram and Twitter to name a few.

"The Vampire Diaries Season 5 wraps in 24 hours," wrote Ian Somerhalder, who plays vampire Damon Salvatore, on Instagram yesterday. "Thank you for 5 amazing seasons!! Sitting with @Julieplec- she thanks and loves you all..."

Somerhalder's co-star Paul Wesley also used social media to reveal the status of Season 5.

"And that's a wrap. Season 5," said Wesley, who plays vampire Damon's good vampire brother Stefan Salvatore, to his fans via Twitter.

Michael Malarkey (Enzo), used Instagram to post an eerie message that hints at what might happen to his character in the Season 5 finale airing next month. Malarkey's character made his debut in the ninth episode of Season 5. The episode was titled "The Cell" and it aired on the CW network on December 5, 2013.

"Last day out in the woods," wrote Malarkey in an Instagram post along with a picture of a graveyard yesterday. "#TVD #BTS."

In addition, he also posted another Instagram message that seems the new character will not survive after the last episode of Season 5.

"Sayonara #TVDS5," wrote Malarkey in an Instagram post along with a picture of a statue crying yesterday.

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 6 is expected to begin in either September or October. "The Vampire Diaries" Season 5 airs Thursdays at 8/7c on The CW network. The Season finale of 'The Vampire Diaries' will air on May 15, 2014.
