"The Last Ship" season 3, episode 9 shifts its focus on Tom Chandler and Peng Wu. It also follows Kara Green as she identifies a possible traitor inside the White House.

As he continues to make every effort to save the post-apocalyptic world, Chandler identifies a lead that may serve as the key to unearthing the answers to all the threats they are confronted with. On the other hand, Kara decides to get more inside information about the White House.

In the promo trailer for the episode titled "Eutopia," Captain Joseph asks Chandler if their operation is a stop-board-and-cease operation. Chandler tells him that it is a cut-the-head-off-the-dragon kind of operation, which leaves the other officers in the ship in shock.

The trailer teases that a new war is set to ensue, and the White House is about to be on lockdown. Moreover, Chandler's ship may have to deal with more attacks than expected.

At the San Diego Comic-Con 2016, the actors of the series revealed some details to Entertainment Weekly as to what fans should expect in the remaining episodes of season 3.

"This season ends with a sequence that only exists because we happened to witness it when we were in San Diego the first time," Kane said.

"Something happened, a bunch of us were standing around, we started crying, and I said, 'That's our season finale.' It happens on a very small level and it happens on a very large level, but we learn every day," he added.
