'The Last Guardian' Release Date News: Game Postpones October Release To December

New details on the release date of Sony's "The Last Guardian" have surfaced and as per reports, players will not be able to play the game next month.

Sony's forthcoming video game is instead set to be released on Dec. 6, according to the PlayStation blog. The blog writes that the game's development team is approaching a huge breakthrough when it comes to game production and, in line with this, the team has decided to postpone the game's release date.

The developers cited the reason behind the game's delay as encountering more bugs than what they had expected while in the final phase of the game's development. Such issues led developers to consider giving extra time to work on them, in order to ascertain that the game provides the developers' vision.

Developers genDESIGN, JAPAN Studio, and Fumito Ueda, have had a brilliant vision for the game's "touching" and "emotional journey" of "friendship" and "trust," with which they want to provide the "most polished" gaming experience feasible for their players.

The project was previously cancelled, according to Gamespot. The website reports that Sony held back because of the game's "heavy" story. However, Sony announced the development of the game for the PlayStation 4 at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in 2015, following several years of rumors that the game had been scrapped.

First unveiled in 2009 as a game for the PlayStation 3, "The Last Guardian" was initially slated to be released on Oct. 25.

Overall, "The Last Guardian" is set to be released on Dec. 6.
