Tenth Avenue North Speak on Having Their Faces on 7UP Can at the K-LOVE Fan Awards (VIDEO)
Tenth Avenue North attended the 2014 K-LOVE Fan Awards last weekend in Nashville Tennessee, and during a red carpet interview with BreatheCast, the band talked about the award they were really hoping to win and why.
The group was nominated for two awards this year, "Group/Duo of The Year" and "First Christian Artist to Appear on a 7UP Can." Lead singer of the band Mike Donehey had high hopes that the band would take home the 7UP can award because of his childhood memories involving the soft drink.
"My mom used to give me 7UP when I was sick as a child. So there's a comforting element of that soda for me," Donehey said.
Ruben Juarez III, bass player in the band interjected and said, they would help "settle children's stomach's across the country once our faces are on it."
"I'm dreaming of cases of it in my garage if we win," Donehey continued. Unfortunately the band did not take home the award but lead singer Donehey got to perform with singer Matt Maher in an incredible version of Maher's hit song.
He called it a "Lovely rendition we've cooked up" and said he was "super excited about it."
Tenth Avenue North performed for the K-LOVE Awards Kickoff Concert that weekend and when asked about his dance moves Donehey said people have told him before, "man your performance was really filled with heart; I could really feel your heart."
He said, "I'm always trying to balance the perfect blend of heart and sass."
The group has just launched a brand new website dedicated to help others find hope called RedemptionWins.com.
"We call it Redemption Wins because we believe that perfection doesn't win. It is when we admit that we are weak and we need a savior, that's when we find healing," a Facebook post on the band's page read.
