Telemundo’s Premiere of First-Ever Spanish Broadcast Miniseries ‘The Bible’ (La Biblia) Breaks Viewing Records [VIDEO]

Telemundo's premiere of the Emmy-nominated epic miniseries 'The Bible' (La Biblia), reached 3,224,000 total viewers and the new record perfectly segues into the premiere of the anticipated sequel, 'A.D. The Bible Continues' coming Easter weekend.

From Executive Producers Mark Burnett and Roma Downey, the premiere of the first-ever Spanish-language broadcast of the scripted docudrama, averaged 2,196,000 total viewers and 924,000 adults 18 to 49, delivering a 60% and a 39% growth in its time slot versus the last four weeks, respectively.

Filmed on location in the Middle East and Morocco, the series features powerful performances from a stellar cast, exotic locations and dazzling visual effects that breathe new life into the dramatic tales of faith and courage, from Abraham to Moses, through Noah to David, following Jesus and the Apostles.

"La Biblia" concludes with a special three-hour finale on Friday, April 3rd (Good Friday), followed by the premiere of the highly anticipated sequel, "A.D. The Bible Continues," on Sunday, April 5th at 8pm/7c, on NBC.

The premiere of "La Biblia" ranks as Telemundo's highest-rated premiere at 8pm among total viewers, and second-highest among adults 18-49.

Locally, "La Biblia" ranked #1 in its time slot, regardless of language, in Miami, among total viewers and adults 18-49. The miniseries also was the #1 most social Spanish-language program during primetime, according to Nielsen Social.
